How to Play WarGrid

WarGrid is a persistent, slow-burn strategy game played on a 100x100 grid. Each campaign lasts 100 hours, with orders executed once every hour.

1. The World

The map consists of different terrains, each providing unique resources and strategic advantages:

Your current position is always marked with a cyan star .

2. Units & Combat

👤 Infantry (Soldiers)

Your primary force. Cheap to recruit and essential for capturing territory.
Power: 1 | Cost: $100

Paratroopers

Air-deployable infantry used to capture distant tiles during Air Strikes.
Power: 1 | Cost: $300

🛡 Armor (Tanks)

Heavy ground units. Strong against infantry but expensive.
Power: 20 | Cost: $2,000

✈ Air Wing (Jets)

Versatile units capable of long-range strikes and transporting paratroopers.
Power: 100 | Cost: $10,000

🚢 Navy (Ships)

Dominates the sea. Strongest unit class on water.
Power: 50 | Cost: $25,000

After combat, surviving defenders are captured on the tile with your survivors.

3. Infrastructure

Build structures on tiles you own to unlock special abilities:

Airfields are required to build Jets. Only one structure can exist on a tile.

4. Special Operations

Air Strikes & Paratroopers

If you have an Airfield, you can select "Air Strike" from the Tactical Menu. You can send Jets to damage a distant tile, but bombing alone cannot capture it.

To Win and Capture a distant tile, you must send Paratroopers with your flights. Each Jet can carry up to 100 Paratroopers. If your paratroopers survive the drop and clear the remaining defenders, the tile is yours!

Nuclear Program

Destroyed tiles are marked grey and are unusable for movement, building, or ownership.

5. Orders & Logistics

Queued orders and production are visible in the command modal and title.

6. Economy & Resources

Tiles generate income each round based on their resource type and value. Any resource on a tile becomes yours when you capture it. Income from owned tiles is added automatically every hour.

7. Winning the Game

The game ends at Hour 100. The winner is determined by the total percentage of the grid controlled and the strength of their remaining forces. Check the Leaderboard to see your current standing!
